Upper Peninsula Health Information Exchange

UPHIE is a health information organization that brings together all types of health care stakeholders and governs health information exchanges among them for the purpose of improving Michigan’s initiative to continuously improve health care quality, efficiency, and patient safety by promoting secure, electronic exchange of health information through the Health Information Exchange (HIE) process. UPHIE is, one of Michigan’s six, Qualified Organizations (QO) who are the gateways to the Michigan Health Information Network (MiHIN) which represents a growing network of public and private organizations working to overcome data sharing barriers, reduce costs, and ultimately advance the health of Michigan’s residents through population health advancements.
