UPHCS Receives LGBTQIA+ Extension Funding!

Exciting news! UPHCS has received funding to launch a new LGBTQIA+ Extension for Community Health Impact (ECHO) series in partnership with Equality Michigan.

This project will provide continuing education opportunities for healthcare providers across the U.P, equipping them with the knowledge, tools, and referral pathways needed to better serve LGBTQIA+ patients. By addressing barriers to care and reducing stigma, we aim to improve health outcomes for over 17,000 LGBTQIA+ individuals living in our region.

We’re so grateful to the Superior Health Foundation for this opportunity! With their support, we’re working to create more inclusive, informed, and equitable healthcare across the Upper Peninsula.

Hear from our Assistant Director, Katrina Keough, as she shares what this new funding means for our community: Superior Health Foundation awards $430K during Fall Proactive Grant cycle.
