MHEF Rapid Response Safety Net Telehealth Initiative
UPHCS received funding in April, 2020 to help Primary Care Physician (PCPs) offices in the Upper Peninsula to implement and improve their telehealth capabilities in order to continue serving patients while observing optimal safe social distancing protocols for patients and staff. Partnering with the Upper Peninsula Health Group (UPHG), UPHCS conducts outreach, identifies and helps to meet the telehealth technical assistance, hardware, software, and workforce development needs of PCP offices in the region. In late 2020, the project expanded to consider the technology needs on the patient end of telehealth, implementing a pilot project that created a community-based telehealth access site in Marquette.
