Introducing the New UPHCS Brand

Upper Peninsula Health Care Solutions (UPHCS) is excited to announce we will be rolling out updated branding over the coming month! Our current logo has served us well for nearly 10 years, but the time has come to modernize it and make it more reflective of the important, innovative work UPHCS does each and every day.

When this process began, we had several goals in mind when creating the new logo, including:

  • Maximizing the acronym “UPHCS” and adding a graphic element to better add excitement and meaning to the acronym itself.
  • Be a daughter/sister to UPHP. Be similar but different enough to convey we are part of the same organization but that UPHCS is a separate operating unit.
  • Explore the idea of UPHCS as an operating unit of UPHP that unites hospitals across the U.P. to collaborate and connect on important health care service issues.

With all of these goals considered, and after many rounds of edits and refinement, we finally settled on this logo to represent UPHCS:

As you can see, the logo itself is structured similarly to UPHP’s, and uses the same “UPHP red” to show our affiliation. The graphic element represents collaboration with each “petal” overlapping and working together to create one shape. The petals also create the illusion of forward movement and surround the image of the UP, which is representative of UPHCS’s innovation and drive to improve health care across our region.

The logo will be unveiled to the UPHCS Board at next week’s meeting, and will be introduced to the public begining January 2021. In the coming weeks, we will share a branding guide with additional details for logo usage, and more direction for updating business cards, email signatures (for UPHCS staff), letterhead/envelope transition, and a brand new website. In the meantime, please continue to use the current logo for all communications.
